Biomat's 17 Layers

Graphic showing the seventeen layers of the Richway Amethyst Biomat with a description of each layer

THE SEVENTEEN LAYERS OF THE RICHWAY AMETHYST BIOMAT

The Richway Amethyst Biomat has seventeen layers that work together to bring the user the most that modern healing technology and ancient wisdom have to offer for pain relief, relaxation, better sleep, improved immunity, better circulation, and more.

The Amethyst Biomat produces infrared heat therapy by using patented heat technology to warm amethyst crystals that emit powerful far infrared rays. This infrared therapy warms you from the inside out, radiating gentle warmth that produces pain relief, relaxation of muscles, and increased blood circulation.  The Biomat also produces negative ions, which help to purify the air around you.  Both infrared therapy and negative ion therapy have many health benefits. The Biomat is FDA-approved for joint pain, muscle pain, muscle spasms, arthritis pain, back pain, and increased circulation (where applied).

Below you will find an in-depth explanation of each and every layer of the Amethyst Biomat.

Layer One (Surface Layer) - Silicon Urethane with Cotton

Silicone is a material that possesses excellent dielectric properties, which makes it a popular choice in various industries. It has a high resistance to heat, cold, chemicals, ozone, UV, and aging, making it durable and long-lasting. Additionally, silicone is non-stick, neutral, and non-toxic, so it does not corrode or harm the products with which it comes into contact.

Cotton, on the other hand, is a natural fiber that comes from the Gossypium plant and is used for making textiles. Despite the advent of synthetic fibers, cotton remains the most widely used textile fiber in the world. It is popular because of its appearance, lightness, comfort, and ease of assembly and transformation. However, cotton is flammable and decomposes around 160°C.

Silicon-coated cotton fabric is a versatile and durable combination of Silicone and Cotton. It is highly resistant to water, oil, and other liquids, making it ideal for use in applications where protection from spills and stains is critical.

The silicon coating also provides an additional layer of insulation, making it an excellent choice for use in extreme temperatures. Moreover, silicon-coated cotton fabric is breathable, which means it can be used in applications where airflow is important. This material is commonly used in the manufacturing of protective clothing, outdoor gear, and industrial equipment covers. Its durability and ability to handle high temperatures while being able to breathe make it perfect for the outer layer of the Richway Biomat.

Layer Two - TPU Waterproof Layer

TPU, short for thermoplastic polyurethane, is a highly sustainable and eco-friendly water barrier option that boasts numerous desirable properties such as elasticity, transparency, and resistance to oil, grease, and abrasion. It is both non-toxic and 100% food-safe, with its film derived from non-GMO cornstarch and fully biodegradable. Furthermore, TPU is solvent-free, not chemically treated, and allows for breathing without outgassing. As a material that exhibits the characteristics of both plastic and rubber, it is highly durable, flexible, and boasts excellent tensile strength.

The Amethyst Biomat serves to create a sauna-like effect where sweating is necessary for detoxification and skin health. To maintain the healing properties of the Biomat, Richway required a flexible material that could breathe, repel water (sweat), and not detract from its therapeutic effects. TPU, being both non-toxic and waterproof, is the ideal choice for the second layer of all Biomats.

Layer Three - Amethyst Layer

On its own, amethyst does not emit far infrared rays.  However, if an external power source is applied, amethyst crystals will emit energy. Therefore, amethyst, like other gems used in hot stone practices, cannot produce infrared heat on its own and requires an external source of power, such as electricity, wood fire, sun, or hot water. Once heated, amethyst absorbs heat energy and emits infrared rays in the Far and Mid-Infrared Light wave frequencies. It is more appropriate to refer to amethyst as a conductor or converter rather than an amplifier, as it absorbs and emits energy in a specific range, similar to the natural warmth of the human body. The concept of Far Infrared Sauna technology is based on this idea, where panels made of stones or other materials are charged with electric heating power until they emit far infrared rays. In conclusion, while crystals cannot amplify each other's rays, they can emit valuable healing infrared heat when heated by an external source.

The third layer in the construction of an Amethyst Biomat is a layer of amethyst.  All Biomats have amethyst spread throughout the entire face of the mat in channels under the first two layers of Silicon Urethane with Cotton Layer and the TPU Waterproof Layer.  These channels are filled completely with high-quality, natural amethyst that, when combined with Richway's infrared heating technology, is heated and then converts the heat to far infrared light and amplifies it up to 200 times its normal potency.  It then enters the body 6-8 inches and heats the body from the inside out.

Layer Four - Hyron Cotton Layer

Thermal insulation is the process of limiting heat transfer between two surfaces or areas, typically by using materials that have low thermal conductivity. Thermal insulation plays a critical role in improving energy efficiency, reducing costs, and protecting equipment and structures from the harmful effects of heat.

The Hyron Cotton Layer in Amethyst Biomats is there to help produce the far infrared rays that are generated by the mat.  The combination of natural amethyst and hyron cotton generates beneficial far infrared therapy.  The hyron cotton is also there to protect you and the mat from harm.  It helps regulate the amount of heat that is transferred and/or produced by the Biomat to you and helps to eliminate any overheating that may damage it.

Layer Five - TOCA™ Layer

The TOCA layer is responsible for producing the negative ion therapy in Richway’s Biomats. TOCA stands for “Tourmaline Catch Powder” and this layer is composed of an ionized fabric infused with 20 minerals including tourmaline and chrome. This results in a natural ionization process that produces 1500 ions per cubic centimeter. In combination with the electronic ion production from other layers in the Bio-Mat, the total ion output is now 1800 ions per cubic centimeter. In comparison, popular ion bracelets produce about 1500 ions per cubic centimeter. The previous model of the Amethyst Biomat only produced 300 ions per cubic centimeter through electronic means. The Biomat 7000mx can be likened to a high-powered ion bracelet, with its significant impact on energy fields noticeable even by simply placing a hand on it. Negative Ions are nature’s air purifiers as the more abundant they are in the air around you, the cleaner the air you are breathing.

Layer Six – Nano Copper Fabric Layer

Currently, copper-loaded woven fabrics are used in textiles with the aim of furthering functional properties like resistance to shrinkage, wrinkling, staining, and flammability.

Nano application is also opted for improving ultraviolet (UV) protection, water repellency, and odor and moisture management. They have the capability to provide self-cleaning and anti-bacterial properties making them popular for intimate as well as non-intimate applications.

The Amethyst Biomat uses the nano copper fabric for all of the properties stated above.  It helps with the anti-bacterial and self-cleaning functions of the Biomat while also helping with keeping the Biomat safe from the heat it produces, which, in turn, keeps you safe.

Layer Seven – Peach and Grape Seed Fiber Layer (Quantum Energy Layer)

Grape seed extract (GSE) has antibacterial, antioxidant, and ultraviolet (UV) protection properties. GSE is mainly composed of proanthocyanins (tannins). Tannins play a role in medicine and human health. Remember that tannins are astringents that tighten pores and draw out liquids. Grape seed extract can reduce blood pressure, improve blood flow, reduce oxidative damage, and improve collagen levels and bone strength.  Grape seed extract’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties are thought to delay the onset of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia.   GSE can also prevent bacterial and fungal infections, improve kidney function, and prevent cancer and liver disease.  It is also considered to be able to speed up the healing of wounds.

Peach seed extract can help with heart disease, kidney disease, arthritis, and hypertension and may help with cancer prevention. It is also known to improve the immune system.  They are also used consistently as a Chinese herb for medicinal purposes, especially for high blood pressure and diabetes.

Quantum energy in medicine is a relatively new concept that involves the use of energy waves to heal the body. This approach is based on the principles of quantum physics, which suggest that all matter is made up of energy and that energy can be manipulated to produce healing effects. Quantum energy therapy involves the use of various devices that emit energy waves, such as magnetic fields, infrared light, and sound waves. These waves are believed to interact with the body's energy field, stimulating healing and promoting overall wellness. Many people have reported significant improvements in their health and well-being after undergoing this type of treatment. Peach and grape seeds are both proven to emit quantum energy so they can affect a body at the cellular level in a very beneficial way.

Layer Eight - Carbon Fiber Layer

Carbon fiber is a material that has been found to provide protection against electromagnetic radiation. This is because carbon fiber is a conductive material that can absorb and dissipate electromagnetic waves, which are a form of radiation. Carbon fiber is made up of many thin, tightly woven fibers that are bonded together to form a strong and lightweight material. When used in products such as phone cases, laptop sleeves, and other electronic device covers, carbon fiber can help to reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation that is emitted from the device. This can help to protect individuals from potential health risks associated with prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation, such as headaches, fatigue, and other symptoms. Overall, carbon fiber is an effective material for protecting against electromagnetic radiation and is becoming increasingly popular in the tech industry as a result.

Carbon fibers are selected as structural and functional materials for many applications due to their excellent mechanical properties, thermal stability, and radiation resistance.  EMF (electromagnetic frequency) radiation is emitted from every electronic device and is harmful to our health.  The Amethyst Biomat is an electronic device so Richway uses the carbon fiber layer to intercept those EMF waves and keep them away from the person using the Biomat.  Carbon fibers have higher conductivity and broad absorption frequency bandwidth, so they catch the EMF waves and consume them.

Layer Nine – Copper Fabric Layer

Copper fabric is a popular material used in the production of EMF radiation shielding products. EMF radiation, also known as electromagnetic radiation, is a form of energy that is emitted from electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, and Wi-Fi routers. While these devices have become an integral part of modern life, they also emit harmful radiation that can cause a range of health problems including cancer, insomnia, and anxiety.

Copper fabric works to prevent EMF radiation by blocking the electromagnetic waves that are emitted by electronic devices. The fabric is made by weaving copper threads into the material, creating a conductive shield that absorbs and redirects the radiation away from the body. This shield is highly effective in reducing exposure to EMF radiation, making it an ideal material for use in EMF radiation shielding products.

In addition to its effectiveness in blocking EMF radiation, the copper fabric is also lightweight and comfortable to wear. It can be easily incorporated into clothing, bedding, and other household items, providing an easy and convenient way to protect against harmful radiation.

Overall, the copper fabric is an innovative solution to the problem of EMF radiation exposure. By using this material in EMF radiation shielding products, individuals can reduce their exposure to harmful radiation and protect their health and well-being.

Richway understands the concerns people have about EMF radiation exposure so one layer just wasn’t enough.  Richway has put two layers to protect against EMF waves in every Amethyst Biomat.

Layer Ten – Fiberglass Layer

Polyester is often referred to as “fiberglass” but that is not accurate.  Fiberglass is the reinforcement for polyester resins.  So, this layer should be called the “polyester layer”.

So why would Richway have an entire layer in the Biomat dedicated to polyester?

Have you ever wondered why some of the warmest winter clothes are made of polyester?  It is because of its superior thermal insulating properties and its ability to resist heat.

The fiberglass is added as a way of firming up the Biomat and making it more durable.

Layer Eleven – Thermal Preservation Layer

This is another layer of polyester, only this time it is in the form of foam for comfort and for the properties of polyester.

Polyester is a synthetic polymer that is widely used in the textile industry due to its excellent durability, wrinkle resistance, and ease of care. However, one of the less well-known properties of polyester is its heat resistance and thermal conductivity. Polyester is highly resistant to heat and can withstand temperatures up to 180°C without melting or degrading. This makes it an ideal material for use in high-temperature applications, such as oven mitts, protective clothing, industrial fabrics, and Amethyst Biomats.

Polyester also exhibits low thermal conductivity, which means that it does not conduct heat well. This property makes it an excellent insulating material, particularly when blended with other fibers such as cotton or wool. The low thermal conductivity of polyester makes it ideal for use in clothing and bedding, as it helps to regulate body temperature and keep the wearer comfortable. It also makes it ideal for use in the Amethyst Biomat, helping to regulate the temperature you have chosen on the controller.

Layer Twelve - Silicon and Teflon Reverse Currency Heating Layer with EMF

Teflon and silicon are two commonly used materials in the manufacturing of heat-resistant products. Both materials are known for their excellent heat stability and resistance to high temperatures. Teflon, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), can withstand temperatures up to 500°F without breaking down or losing its properties. It is often used in cooking utensils, industrial applications, and aerospace technologies.

Silicon, on the other hand, can withstand even higher temperatures, up to 600°F, making it a popular choice for baking mats, oven mitts, and other kitchen products. Both Teflon and silicon are non-reactive, non-stick, and easy to clean, making them popular choices for heat-resistant products in both commercial and household settings.

Silicon and Teflon are two materials that are known for their resistance to electromagnetic fields (EMF). EMF is a type of radiation that is emitted by electronic devices and can have negative effects on human health.

Silicon is a semiconductor material that is commonly used in electronic devices such as transistors and microchips. It is highly resistant to EMF and is often used in the construction of EMF shielding devices.

Teflon, on the other hand, is a non-conductive material that is commonly used in the construction of high-frequency cables and other electronic components. It has a low dielectric constant, which means that it is highly resistant to the effects of EMF. Both silicon and Teflon are highly effective at reducing the harmful effects of EMF on human health, making them important materials in the construction of electronic devices. The Amethyst Biomat uses both silicon and Teflon in one layer to resist the heat created by the Biomat while protecting the user from EMF radiation. The amethyst crystals in the Biomat are warmed by a flexible conductive heating plate, which was developed originally by NASA in order to safely warm space stations and other space vehicles.

Layer THIRTEEN – Nonwoven Fabric Layer

Nonwoven fabrics provide specific functions such as absorbency, liquid repellence, resilience, stretch, softness, strength, flame retardancy, washability, cushioning, thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, filtration, use as a bacterial barrier, and sterility. The advantages of using nonwoven fabrics in the Amethyst Biomat are highly electrically conductive, RF/EMI/EMF/LF Blocking, Super Earthing/Grounding Fabric, durability, and performance, but the primary purpose is electrical intermittence.

Layer Fourteen – Aluminum Layer

This layer is for the reflection of the far infrared rays being created by the amethyst in Layer Three and the heat technology in the Amethyst Biomat.  Aluminum is a great reflector of light and has the ability to reflect 95% of the infrared light that contacts it.

Aluminum is known for its excellent reflective properties, making it an ideal material for reflecting far infrared light. Far infrared light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that is emitted by the sun and is responsible for warming the Earth's surface. This type of light has a longer wavelength than visible light, making it more difficult to reflect using traditional materials. However, aluminum is able to reflect far infrared light due to its high reflectivity and low emissivity. By reflecting far infrared light, aluminum can help to reduce heat transfer and improve energy efficiency in a variety of applications, including building materials, automotive components, and electronic devices. Its ability to reflect far infrared light also makes aluminum a popular choice for solar reflectors and other renewable energy applications.

Layer Fifteen – Nonwoven Fabric Layer

Like Layer Thirteen, this layer helps with thermal preservation or insulation.  In other words, it keeps the heat contained around Layer Fourteen, the Aluminum Layer, so that the infrared rays can escape without the heat associated with them until they enter the body.

Layer Sixteen – Thermal Protection Layer

Like Layer Eleven, this layer is also a polyester sponge material. However, this layer has a different purpose. This layer maximizes the negative ions and far infrared rays that reach the user while protecting the surface of the Amethyst Biomat lying on top of it.

Layer Seventeen – High-Quality Cotton

High-quality cotton isn’t just soft to the touch and comfortable to lay on, its also good for the surfaces it lays on because with the weight of the user and that user moving here and there, a rougher surface could scratch tables, couches, etc that the Biomat is laid upon to use.  Richway has an elegant brass pattern woven into the cotton fabric as well.
